SanMar is looking for a Senior Database Administrator to modernize, secure, and scale our data platforms to support evolving business and application needs. You will be focused on building resilient, automated systems and enabling cross-functional teams to implement scalable and secure data solutions across cloud and on-premise environments.
What You'll Do
- Lead initiatives to modernize legacy database environments, implement automation, and design fault-tolerant systems in hybrid cloud infrastructures.
- Work closely with engineering, security, and business stakeholders to build and maintain database environments that are performant, secure, and cost-effective.
- Drive a self-service model, empowering developers and engineers with tools and frameworks to independently interact with backend database systems across on-prem, cloud, and SaaS environments.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a relevant technical certification.
- 15 years of experience working in database administration, database engineering or a related role.
- 15 years of experience building & managing redundant, secured, and resilient Database environments, including On-Prem & Cloud.
- 10 years of experience with Relational Databases including MS-SQL, MySQL, and Postgres.
- 5 years of experience with No-SQL Databases including MongoDB, Cassandra, and Redis.
- 5 years of experience working with cloud platforms including Azure, AWS, and GCP.
- 5 years of experience with database automation.
- 3 years of experience working with infrastructure as code and tools similar to Terraform.
- 3 years of experience working with scripting languages including Bash, Python, and PowerShell.
- 3 years of experience working with Linux.
- Must successfully complete a competency-based interview.

Benefits & Compensation
- Salary range: $150,000.00 to $190,000/year.
