Naimuri, part of QinetiQ, is looking for an Infrastructure Engineer to join a team providing server and virtualisation support and technical direction within key maritime projects and programmes. You will investigate and resolve technical issues, support multiple projects across different IT infrastructure layers, and ensure the secure transfer of data for QinetiQ and its customers.
What You'll Do
- Technically lead small projects or parts of larger projects by managing a small technical team to deliver solutions.
- Deliver to time and budget while being responsible for identifying problems and providing pragmatic solutions.
- Deliver technical documentation, test plans and reports, user guides, work instructions, design or process documents, hardware or software builds, and system installation or integration.
- Provide mentoring support to junior colleagues.
- Undertake the delivery of standard tasking independently and take on tasks of increasing complexity.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience as a 3rd line infrastructure engineer with hands-on experience of servers and virtualisation.
- Proven experience of working in a broad and comprehensive range of concepts and principles within Networking & IT.
- A good understanding of IT infrastructure with a specialisation or interest in security IT principles.
- Previous experience with backup solutions such as Veeam.
- The ability to use VMware, Windows Server, backup solutions, and documentation suites.
- Previous experience working in a team-oriented environment with the ability to self-initiate work and self-manage.
- A first degree in Science or Engineering, or equivalent relevant experience.
