Synchrony is seeking an Information Security Solution Train Engineer to serve as the key driver of Scaled Agile transformation within our Information Security organization. In this role, you will facilitate the Agile Release Train and Solution Train processes, coaching leaders and teams while overseeing Program Increment sessions and major releases.
What You'll Do
- Facilitate solution events and coach teams to deliver added value by closely collaborating with Solution Architects and Management.
- Establish and maintain reporting mechanisms to track progress against goals, PI commitments, and agility maturity across the Solution Train.
- Identify and proactively remove barriers, influence decisions, and improve the entire delivery system.
- Act as a lean-agile leader and coach for the Release Train Engineer (RTE) community.
- Help RTEs and ART end-users understand their impact on the overall decision-making process.
- Manage and optimize the flow of value across the ART and Solution Train, providing portfolio-level visibility.
- Establish and communicate the annual cadence for Iterations and Program Increments, ensuring consistency and transparency.
- Facilitate PI Planning readiness and execution, fostering Continuous Exploration and synthesis of vision, roadmap, and backlogs.
- Track execution of features and capabilities, delivering insights into progress, risks, and PI outcomes.
- Identify, manage, and escalate risks, dependencies, and impediments impacting program delivery.
- Provide input on resourcing and capacity constraints to address critical bottlenecks.
- Partner with Product, Architecture, Engineering, and the Agile PMO to ensure strategy and execution are aligned.
- Drive continuous improvement and operational excellence, including DevOps, Release on Demand, and Lean UX practices.
- Drive relentless improvement via Inspect and Adapt workshops; assess and improve the agility level of the ART.
- Foster Communities of Practice and the use of engineering and Built-In Quality practices.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 8 years of IT experience, or in lieu of degree, a High School diploma/GED and 9 years of IT experience.
- Minimum 8 years of IT project management experience in the financial services or banking industry.
- Minimum 8 years of experience with project management methodology (Waterfall, Agile) and all phases of SDLC.
- Ability and flexibility to travel for business as required.
Nice to Have
- Agile experience as a Scrum Master and SAFe Scaled Agile experience.
- Experience with a web, mobile, or ASP companies strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated competency with linking business strategy with IT technology initiatives.
- Strong cross-functional team player with the ability to work seamlessly across a matrix organization.
- Strong business acumen including a broad understanding of financial services business processes and practices.
- Proven track record of leading and executing on critical business initiatives on-time and within budget.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate teams in a matrixed environment.
- Demonstrated ability to drive change and work effectively across business boundaries.
- Superior decision-making, client relationship, and vendor management experience.
- Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and manage changing priorities.
- Expertise in evaluating technology and solution engineering, with a strong focus on architecture and re-engineering.
- Experience with testing application enhancements.
- Able to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements for projects.

This role is part of the Information Security Agile Release Train and Solution Train, driving key processes and execution for the organization.

- Annual Compensation: $130,000 - $210,000
