What You'll Do
Adapt in-game text, user interfaces, mission descriptions, character dialogue, and cutscene subtitles to ensure linguistic accuracy and cultural authenticity for French (France) audiences. Preserve the original tone, intent, and narrative impact across all localized content.
Review and refine translations to maintain consistency and quality throughout the game. Collaborate with QA teams to identify and correct language-related issues directly within the game environment.
Contribute to the development and upkeep of language-specific resources such as glossaries, style guides, and terminology databases. Offer insights into improving localization workflows to enhance both efficiency and output quality.

Native or near-native proficiency in French (France) is required. You must hold either a degree in translation, linguistics, or a related field, or have equivalent professional experience—either five years of full-time translation work, or two years plus a degree in another discipline.
Demonstrated experience in localizing video game content is essential, with at least three years focused specifically on interactive media. You should have hands-on familiarity with translating UI elements, mission text, NPC dialogue, and timed subtitle blocks.
Practical expertise in transcreation for games is necessary, particularly when adapting crime fiction narratives. This includes a solid grasp of early 20th-century organized crime terminology, period-specific firearms, and vintage vehicle jargon. Knowledge of the historical Cosa Nostra and its cultural context is required.
Experience with game engines and standard localization pipelines is expected. Familiarity with scripting formats such as XML and JSON is beneficial.
