The Green Climate Fund is hiring an Implementation & Monitoring Consultant to support private sector investments through the implementation, monitoring, and review of approved projects and programmes. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring execution of legal documentation, compliance with agreements and policies, processing disbursements, and reviewing project performance reports.
What You'll Do
- Monitor the implementation of an assigned portfolio of projects through reviewing project reports from Accredited Entities (AEs), assessing financial and operating performance, and proactively managing implementation and performance risks.
- Coordinate guidance to AEs to ensure timely compliance with M&E reporting requirements per frameworks such as GCF’s Monitoring and Accountability Framework and Integrated Result Measurement Framework (IRMF), as well as legal, financial, and policy terms.
- Process disbursement requests in compliance with executed legal documents and GCF policies.
- Assess post-approval amendment requests from Accredited Entities, recommend acceptable amendments to the approving authority, and effect changes to legal documents in collaboration with the legal team.
- Contribute to portfolio analysis and reporting to support effective oversight and strategic management of the investment portfolio.
What We're Looking For
- An advanced university degree in economics, business administration, finance, or other relevant fields.
- At least 9 years of solid experience in reviewing and monitoring private sector projects, including complex financial transactions.
- Sound understanding of different financial products: loans, guarantees, and equity. A demonstrated track record in the implementation and monitoring of private sector complex projects, including limited partner (LP) investments in private equity funds.
- Ability to work in a multicultural environment with diverse stakeholders at different technical and strategic levels, including staff, Board, and external partners.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English are essential.
Nice to Have
- Exposure to managing a portfolio of projects and experience in international financial institutions and/or multilateral development banks.
- Exposure to or knowledge of climate change project issues and/or GCF working modalities.
Team & Environment
You will report to the designated Manager in the Department of Asia Pacific.
Work Mode
This is an onsite position based in Songdo, Incheon, South Korea.
