SLR is seeking an experienced Hydraulic Modeler with 5+ years of experience to support their growing hydrology and modelling discipline in Dublin, Ireland. The role involves leading technically complex hydraulic modelling projects related to flood risk management, water quality, sediment transport, and large-scale green energy infrastructure, with opportunities for project management and business development.
What You'll Do
- Direct and lead technically complex hydraulic modelling projects
- Support flood risk management capabilities
- Support water quality and other technical disciplines
- Work on flood mitigation studies, water quality, sediment transport, and large-scale green energy infrastructure projects
- Engage in business development and project management
- Mentor junior team members
- Deliver complex technical information to clients and internal teams
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of experience as a hydraulic modeller
- Experience working to the Flood Planning Guidelines in Ireland
- Experience with relevant hydraulic modelling technical standards in Ireland
- In-depth knowledge of hydraulic modelling software packages: ESTRY / TUFLOW and Flood Modeller
- Demonstrable experience leading and conducting technical review of complex hydraulic modelling projects
- Experience using QGIS or other industry standard GIS packages for hydraulic modelling
- Excellent communication skills
- Knowledge and experience delivering projects in Ireland and/or the UK
- Valid driver's licence in Ireland
- A chartered member of a relevant institution or currently working towards chartership
