Vattenfall is hiring a Hydro Analyst / Dispatcher

Vattenfall is looking for a Hydro Analyst / Dispatcher for a unique hybrid role. You'll split your time between operational work at our Nordic dispatch center and analytical work on hydro portfolio optimization. This position is central to developing our optimization processes, trading strategies, and data-driven decision support systems.

What You'll Do

• Perform operational duties as a Dispatcher in the Nordic dispatch center for approximately 50% of your time.
• Support experts in the continuous development of Vattenfall’s Nordic hydro portfolio optimization, trading strategies, algo-trading, and ancillary service deliveries.
• Challenge established solutions and initiate new business improvements.
• Contribute to the development of optimization processes and data-driven decision support systems.

What We're Looking For

• A relevant University degree in a quantitative or financial discipline (e.g., Engineering, IT, Econometrics, Mathematics, Physics or similar).
• Strong business sense and a trader’s mindset.
• Flexibility and the ability to manage many activities simultaneously.
• Fluent proficiency in Swedish and good skills in English.

Nice to Have

• Programming and data analysis skills, preferably in Python.

You will be part of Vattenfall’s Intraday Optimisation Nordic department, working within the Dispatch Nordic team.
