Corewell Health is looking for an HVAC Tech to maintain and repair critical refrigeration, air conditioning, and mechanical systems at our hospital and off-site buildings. You’ll work under general supervision, following established policies to ensure reliable system performance and may assist other departments as needed.

What You'll Do

Install, maintain, and repair commercial refrigeration, HVAC, and mechanical systems according to blueprints and engineering specifications.
Diagnose problems, repair defects, and perform preventive maintenance on commercial systems.
Service air conditioning, refrigeration, and mechanical systems, including disassembling units, performing chiller maintenance, and servicing pumps, filters, and medical equipment.
Test and rebuild vacuum pumps, damper motors, water and refrigeration coils.
Work with components in air conditioning, refrigeration, ventilation distribution, and mechanical systems.
Establish system performance operating parameters using manufacturer's specifications and test equipment.
Read, interpret, and generate sequence of operation for HVAC equipment.
Read and utilize DDC programming code.
Perform test and balance work.
Repair malfunctioning equipment, replace defective parts, complete preventive maintenance, and maintain service records.
Install, remove, store, and record the location of all heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment.
Service and maintain thermostats, VAV boxes, TECs, lab ventilation equipment, and fan coil units.

What We're Looking For

High school diploma or GED.
Completion of a vocational training program.
3 years of relevant experience with HVAC equipment.
General knowledge of welding, soldering, braising, basic electronics, plumbing, and mechanics.
Knowledge of refrigeration principles and the ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings.
Valid Driver's License in the State of Michigan.

Nice to Have

Mechanical Contractor License in the State of Michigan.
Refrigerant Recovery and Recycling Certification.
