About the Role
This position involves conducting human health risk assessments to support environmental remediation and regulatory compliance projects. The candidate will analyze exposure pathways, interpret toxicological data, and prepare technical documentation in alignment with federal and state guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Conduct human health risk assessments following federal and state regulatory frameworks
- Evaluate environmental exposure pathways for contaminants in soil, water, and air
- Interpret toxicological reference values and exposure assumptions
- Prepare risk assessment reports for regulatory submittal
- Collaborate with project teams on site investigation findings
- Support remedial decision-making with quantitative risk analysis
- Review environmental monitoring data for data quality and relevance
- Communicate risk findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with applicable risk assessment guidance documents
- Perform uncertainty analyses in risk characterization
- Develop exposure scenarios representative of site-specific conditions
- Work with geospatial data to support risk modeling
- Contribute to interdisciplinary project teams on environmental projects
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory risk policies
- Assist in scoping risk assessment work plans
- Support field investigation teams with risk-based objectives
- Review contractor-submitted risk documentation for technical accuracy
- Participate in client and agency meetings as a risk specialist
- Track project risk tasks against schedules and budgets
- Use standard software tools for risk calculation and data management
- Apply probabilistic methods where appropriate in risk evaluation
- Document assumptions and methodologies in technical memos
- Support development of risk-based cleanup goals
- Integrate ecological risk considerations when relevant
- Assist in training junior staff on risk assessment principles

Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in environmental health, toxicology, or related discipline
- Experience with international risk assessment frameworks
- Certified Risk Assessor designation

- This role may require occasional travel to client sites or project locations
