Manchester Airports Group (MAG), operating as CAVU, is hiring a Hospitality Chef to join our Airport Hospitality Team. Our lounges are designed to give customers the very best start to their journey, and you'll be central to delivering that experience.
What You'll Do
- Follow recipes and product directions for preparing and cooking all varieties of foods.
- Operate a variety of kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Prepare foods for cooking, including washing, peeling, cutting, and shredding.
- Maintain the food offering to ensure presentation meets our high operating standards.
- Manage stock levels, receive deliveries, ensure correct storage, and maintain rotation.
- Maintain kitchen hygiene: sweep and mop or vacuum floors, clean and sanitize equipment, and assist in organising the kitchen.
- Dispose of waste, including recycling, in the appropriate manner.
- Liaise with subcontracted suppliers, airline representatives, handling agents, and booking agents to develop positive working relationships.
- Assist in one-to-one training of new staff, including subcontracted supplier staff, to uphold high standards of presentation and service.
What We're Looking For
- A solid background in the hospitality and service sectors, with a proven track record of high-end delivery.
- A team player with an absolute first-class approach to customer service.
- Experience and demonstrable examples of flexibility across long trading days.
- Numerical and analytical skills to process and interrogate data for performance reporting and budget delivery.
- Computer literacy in mainstream PC applications, including Microsoft Office.
- Experience working on your own initiative, capable of building solid relationships both internally and externally.
- Flexibility for shift patterns; early shifts can start at 3:30am and late shifts can finish at 10:00pm.
