Intermountain Health is looking for a HIM Document Analyst I, Ambulatory to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing and managing incoming digital clinical documentation to maintain the integrity of the legal electronic health record (EHR). Your work ensures accurate and timely processing for patient care information availability.
What You'll Do
- Perform functions related to electronic document imaging processes according to established policies.
- Analyze and determine classification of documents into correct document type categories.
- Determine appropriate workflow process using established clinical protocol.
- Monitor and manage work queues for inbound digital faxes in OnBase and team in-baskets in Epic.
- Perform quality control to ensure electronic documents post to the correct patient’s visit.
- Identify and correct errors identified by the quality control process.
- Verify documents are indexed to the appropriate patient chart and document category.
- Verify appropriate patient identification on each document.
- Escalate unresolved issues per procedure.
- Meet department productivity standards and goals.
- Ensure compliance with guidelines related to patient confidentiality.
- Demonstrate knowledge of electronic health information systems.
- Perform other duties and special assigned projects.
What We're Looking For
- Demonstrated proficiency in computer skills including Microsoft Office, internet, and email.
- Experience with medical terminology and medical records, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Nice to Have
- Associate or bachelor's degree in a healthcare related field.
- Experience in HIM.
- RHIT, RHIA, CMA, or any related healthcare certification.
- Experience with Epic or OnBase.
