K12, a Stride Company is seeking a High School CTE Teacher specializing in Practicum of IT and AP Computer Science. In this remote role, you will deliver course content online, provide instruction and support, and manage the learning process with a focus on individual student needs, progress monitoring, and post-secondary planning for students at Texas Virtual Academy of Hallsville (TVAH).
What You'll Do
- Provide rich and engaging synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences.
- Commit to personalizing learning and demonstrate a belief in all students’ ability to succeed.
- Differentiate instruction based on student level of mastery.
- Augment course content using appropriate asynchronous and synchronous tools.
- Maintain the grade book, ensure academic integrity, and make promotion decisions.
- Prepare students for high-stakes standardized tests.
- Establish and maintain positive rapport with families, communicating regularly with students and learning coaches.
- Support learning coaches with curricular, instructional, and basic troubleshooting issues.
- Maintain and apply knowledge of State, National, and Industry Specific learning standards.
- Develop effective instructional tools and strategies to enhance the provided curriculum.
- Collaborate regularly with the school and national professional learning community.
- Administer and proctor certification assessments where applicable.
- Serve as an Advisor for a Career & Technical Student Organization.
- Support the CTE Program Coordinator in creating business and industry partnerships for work-based learning.
- Support a project-based learning model.
- Travel up to 20% of the time for professional development, student testing, and school requirements.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree.
- Active state teaching license.
- Ability to clear required background check.
- Ability to work collaboratively to interpret student data and use it to drive instructional decisions.
- Receptive to receiving regular coaching from administrators and teacher trainers.
- Ability to embrace change and adapt to ensure excellent student outcomes.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint.
- Ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms.
- Ability to maintain teacher certification and fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum.
Nice to Have
- Experience working with high school-aged students.
- Experience supporting adults and children in the use of technology.
- Experience teaching in an online and/or brick-and-mortar environment.
- Experience with online learning platforms.
