Perform advanced troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of large-scale Caterpillar mining machinery in both shop and remote field settings. Work directly on high-performance equipment, ensuring reliable operation through precise diagnostics and mechanical expertise.
What You'll Do
Diagnose equipment issues using computerized and manual testing systems to identify necessary repairs. Conduct maintenance and corrective work on hydraulic, electrical, and emissions systems. Support safe operations by following on-site protocols and responding efficiently to equipment failures. Deliver consistent service quality in alignment with established performance standards.
Requirements
- Hold a valid Interprovincial Journeyperson certification in Heavy Equipment Technology
- Maintain a clean driver’s abstract for the past five years
- Reside within the Elk Valley—no remote accommodations or camp options are available
- Be able to pass required site access screenings, including drug and alcohol testing and fitness assessments
- Be capable of wearing respiratory protection when necessary
Preferred Experience
- Background in electrical, hydraulic, and emissions system repair
- Experience rebuilding engines or major components
- Knowledge of transmission or hydraulic testing procedures
- Exposure to gas engine systems or power generation equipment

Work Environment
This is a full-time, on-site position based in Elkford, BC, operating on a continuous 7x7 shift rotation. Work may occur in remote or rugged environments requiring physical stamina and adherence to safety standards.
