Interstate Brick was looking for a Health & Safety Coordinator

Interstate Brick is seeking a Health & Safety Coordinator to plan, establish, implement, and maintain health and safety policies and programs at our wallboard manufacturing plant. You'll ensure full compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

What You'll Do

  • Perform and coordinate job safety analysis, risk assessments, and create action plans to reduce risk.
  • Manage worker's compensation at the plant level, collaborating with risk management, supervisors, and managers.
  • Actively participate in the modified duty and return to work process.
  • Assist with maintaining site preparedness, emergency plans, and injury and illness plans.
  • Perform accident and incident investigations for your area of responsibility, including safety policy and procedures reviews.
  • Conduct regular safety audits, report findings, and manage corrective actions with a focus on root cause analysis.
  • Maintain accurate records for worker training and safety.
  • Provide effective safety training on topics including forklift operation, hearing conservation, lockout/tagout, exposure programs, PPE, HazCom, hoist inspections, confined spaces, and hot work.
  • Prepare and conduct employee training sessions and safety meetings.
  • Ensure job safety analysis documents are complete for each production position, including Lock Out Tag Out policies.

What We're Looking For

  • An associate degree from a two-year college or university in a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Three to five (3-5) years of experience in Health & Safety.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience in Industrial, Mining, or Manufacturing environments.

Nice to Have

  • Previous Health & Safety experience within a manufacturing setting.
