Sartorius is hiring a Head of Business Development - Cell and Gene Therapy to join our Americas commercial leadership team. In this remote role, you will drive the strategic direction of the organization, identify hurdles, and build robust plans for scaling success.
What You'll Do
- Generate sales leads and act as a senior sales leader by visiting customers and effectively pitching the value proposition.
- Identify, establish, and cultivate long-term strategic relationships with potential clients.
- Develop, manage, and be accountable for the sales funnel and pipeline.
- Setup and host customer engagements with tech sales and application specialists.
- Generate sales insights and new business opportunities through utilization of the CRM together with our Marketeer.
- Develop and/or validate requirements through communication with clients.
- Develop relevant SOPs to guide a consistent approach amongst your team to meeting/exceeding client expectations in sales processes (pre & post sale).
- Close contracts with other internal groups, e.g., legal, contracts, finance.
- Provide sales updates to senior leadership on pipeline, projections, and trends.
- Stay at the forefront of CGT products, market, and trends in quality control and manufacturing technologies.
- Coach/train more junior members of staff to deliver on our mission.
- Forecast demand to manufacturing and supply chain.
- Forecast sales and maintain revenue accountability of targets.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Life Science, Biological Engineering, Biotechnology, or related field.
- 5+ years of sales experience in the Life Sciences or related industry.
- 2+ years of Leadership experience managing a sales team.
- 5+ years' experience in Cell and Gene Therapy.
- 5+ years of Business Development experience.
- Background in Cell and Gene therapy is required.
- Experience selling healthcare or biotech equipment is required.
- Willingness to travel up to 70% domestically.

Nice to Have
- Master's Degree or PHD preferred.
- Hands-on experience in GMP research lab or transfusion lab preferred.
