Haufe Group is looking for a Legal Counsel Data Protection (m/w/d) to ensure the legal compliance of our products and services. In this role, you will join a central Data Protection Office, providing expert legal advice to internal teams and group subsidiaries.
What You'll Do
- Advise business units and subsidiaries on data protection requirements, focusing on product and service compliance.
- Create, review, and negotiate data protection contracts, such as Data Processing Agreements and Joint Controller Arrangements.
- Conduct legal reviews within a central Risk Assessment process, evaluating privacy risks for external services, vendors, and in-house developments.
- Prepare legal opinions on current legal questions, for example, related to data protection and AI.
- Support the further development, review, and implementation of data protection documentation, including Records of Processing Activities and Data Protection Impact Assessments.
What We're Looking For
- Completed German law degree (Volljurist:in).
- Affinity for technology: good understanding of software and data flows, or a strong willingness to learn.
- Solid knowledge of national and European data protection law.
- Excellent command of German and English (minimum C1 level).
Nice to Have
- Ideally, a certification like CIPP/E.
- Ideal prior experience in a comparable role, preferably in an in-house team of a software company or a law firm.
