About the Role
The intern will collaborate with engineers to build and refine robotic systems, focusing on hands-on development and troubleshooting of electromechanical components and sensors.
Responsibilities
- Assist in assembling and testing robotic hardware prototypes
- Support integration of sensors, motors, and control systems
- Conduct experiments to evaluate system performance under real-world conditions
- Document test results and suggest design improvements
- Collaborate with software and controls teams to ensure hardware compatibility
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues in robotic platforms
- Participate in iterative design cycles to refine product functionality
- Perform basic circuit testing and validation
- Help maintain lab equipment and development environments
- Contribute to safety assessments for robotic systems
- Support calibration and tuning of robotic components
- Review engineering drawings and schematics for accuracy
- Assist in creating prototypes using 3D printing and machining tools
- Gather data during field tests for performance analysis
- Follow engineering best practices for documentation and version control
- Work with engineers to debug communication between hardware modules
- Help prepare robots for demonstration and deployment
- Participate in team meetings and technical reviews
- Learn and apply principles of embedded systems and real-time control
- Support compliance with safety and quality standards
Nice to Have
- Experience with ROS (Robot Operating System)
- Prior internship in robotics or hardware engineering
- Knowledge of control theory or feedback systems
- Experience with PCB design or soldering
- Involvement in robotics competitions or university projects
