Hancock Health is looking for a Group Exercise Instructor to join our fitness team. This role is responsible for delivering safe and effective group exercise classes while providing exceptional customer service to our members. We need someone with strong communication skills, adaptability, and a responsible attitude towards health and safety.
What You'll Do
- Perform safe and effective group exercise classes.
- Arrive before the start of scheduled class time to set up and clock in per policy.
- Greet members and guests by name with a smile, delivering excellent customer service.
- Find substitute instructors for your own classes when needed and notify your supervisor or manager.
- Follow established procedures for malfunctioning equipment and log issues.
- Be knowledgeable and proficient in all facility rules, regulations, policies, programs, services, and activities.
- Respond to all emergency situations per facility policy and procedures.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism in accordance with organizational standards.
- Maintain all annual education requirements (CBL’s) and BLS/CPR certifications.
- Assume other duties and projects as assigned.
What We're Looking For
- A general group exercise or a specialty certification in the area of classes taught at HWC within 6 months of hire.
- BLS (Basic Life Saving)/CPR certification required within 90 days of hire.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Nice to Have
- Experience teaching group exercise classes in a community, commercial, or hospital-based fitness center.
Team & Environment
You will report to a Group Exercise Supervisor and/or Fitness Manager.
