Hancock Health is looking for a Group Exercise Instructor to lead and teach a variety of group exercise classes in a safe and appropriate manner. You will be an integral part of our fitness community, providing a positive and engaging experience for all members.

What You'll Do

Perform safe and effective group exercise classes, including Cycling, Body Sculpt, Hard body 45, Core, and Boot Camp.
Arrive before the start of scheduled class time to set up and clock in per policy.
Greet members and guests by name with a smile and deliver excellent customer service.
Find substitute instructors for your own classes when needed and notify your supervisor of changes.
Follow established procedures for malfunctioning equipment and log issues.
Be knowledgeable of and enforce all facility rules, regulations, and policies.
Be knowledgeable of current information on all center programs, services, and activities and promote them.
Respond to all emergency situations per facility policy and procedures.
Maintain a high level of professionalism in accordance with organizational standards of behavior.
Maintain all annual education requirements (CBL’s) and BLS/CPR certifications.
Assume other duties and projects as assigned.

What We're Looking For

General group exercise OR a specialty certification in the area of classes taught at HWC within 6 months of hire.
BLS (Basic Life Saving)/CPR certification required within 90 days of hire.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Strong communication skills: informing your supervisor about class coverage, checking email weekly, greeting members.
Adaptability: flexible to the needs of members, provides appropriate experience, maintains a positive outlook on schedule changes.
Responsible attitude to health and safety: performs safe classes, remains knowledgeable, responds to emergencies.
Time management: arrives early to set up, stays to clean, attends scheduled meetings.
