St Vincent’s Health Australia was looking for a Graduate Occupational Therapist

St Vincent’s Health Australia is looking for a Graduate Occupational Therapist to join a two-year rotational graduate program. This program supports newly graduated occupational therapists to consolidate discipline-specific skills and develop mental health competencies for a successful transition to practice. You will be part of an established Allied Health graduate program with a focus on learning, reflective practice, supervision, and self-care.

What You'll Do

  • Participate in a rotational program across various mental health clinical settings.
  • Work as part of multi-disciplinary teams, closely with Grade 2 and Senior Occupational Therapists.
  • Contribute to team decisions and learn from colleagues.
  • Actively participate in knowledge development and progression as an Occupational Therapist and mental health clinician.
  • Help meet the needs of consumers and families/carers experiencing mental illness.
  • Rotate through areas including Adult Community Mental Health Clinics, Residential Recovery Services, and Adult and Older Adult Acute Inpatient Units.

What We're Looking For

  • A qualification in Occupational Therapy within the last twenty-four months.
  • Current registration with AHPRA (Occupational Therapy Board).
  • Current driver’s license.
  • A valid Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check, or willing to obtain.
  • Strong interest in mental health and well-being.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work as a team member and contribute to team decisions.
  • Willingness to learn from those around you.
  • Interest in understanding issues experienced by people with mental illness and a commitment to helping meet their needs.
  • Computer literacy.

Team & Environment

You will be embedded in clinical settings, working as part of multi-disciplinary teams with Grade 2 and Senior Occupational Therapists.

  • Compensation: Occupational Therapist Grade 1 YB14 - YB19 ($68,868 - $87,989 per annum). Reclassification and increase in remuneration expected in early 2026.

This is an onsite position based in Fitzroy and the inner-city areas of Yarra and Boroondara.
