APAC Mississippi, Inc., a CRH company, seeks a Grading Equipment Operator to operate heavy construction equipment safely and efficiently across a variety of job sites. You will maintain equipment, strictly adhere to safety regulations, and provide support to team members.
What You'll Do
- Operate various construction equipment and machinery—including excavators, skid-steers, loaders, graders, and rollers—efficiently and safely across different job sites.
- Follow all company policies and OSHA/MSHA safety regulations.
- Report issues or incidents promptly to supervisors or management.
- Adhere to daily assignments and project expectations from the Foreman.
- Perform minor maintenance on equipment and report major problems.
- Complete daily equipment inspections and required documentation.
- Help train less-experienced team members in equipment operation, servicing, and repair.
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
- Carry out other tasks as assigned.
What We're Looking For
- Ability to perform all essential functions of the job to a satisfactory standard.
- Minimum age of 18 years.
- Must successfully complete a pre-employment physical, drug screening, and background check.
- Must comply with all company safety protocols and procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and support co-workers and supervisors as needed.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license per state requirements (DL/CDL, Class A and/or B, with potential hazmat and tanker endorsements).
- Willingness to travel and work at remote job sites, including possible overnight stays.
- Flexibility to work nights and weekends as project demands arise.
- Required to use personal protective equipment (PPE) such as face shields and safety (hard toe) shoes in designated areas, per OSHA/MSHA and company guidelines.
- Full compliance with OSHA and/or MSHA regulations is mandatory.
Nice to Have
- High School diploma or GED.
- 1-2 years of relevant experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination.
- A current DOT Medical Card.
