Interstate Brick is seeking a dedicated General Laborer to join our California production team. Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will support the department through hand stacking blocks, batching materials, and operating key production equipment, all while demonstrating our Core Values of Integrity, Safety, Respect, Customer Focus, Quality, Innovation, and Financial Success.
What You'll Do
- Learn and know the names, sizes, and color details of our block products.
- Read and use a measuring tape accurately.
- Learn the controls and proper operation of the cuber, splitter, and depalleter.
- Maintain knowledge of all Safety Procedures and Lock Out Tag Out protocols for equipment.
- Inspect block products for quality, recognizing good and bad attributes.
- Lift and stack all types of block products and pallets.
- Learn and understand all cubing patterns.
- Complete the proper cleaning process for mixers, including Lock Out Tag Out procedures.
- Keep your work area clean and organized for the duration of your shift.
- Attend safety meetings and abide by all safety rules from the company and regulatory agencies.
- Report and help correct any hazardous conditions.
- Maintain predictable and regular attendance.
- Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
What We're Looking For
- Basic math, reading, and writing skills.
- Ability to receive on-the-job training to perform duties effectively.
- Willingness to learn and follow all safety procedures for equipment.
- Ability to shovel and perform general clean-up duties.
- Ability to operate a splitter, cuber, forklift, and other required equipment.
- Predictable and regular attendance is required.
Nice to Have
- Production line experience.
Team & Environment
You will report directly to the Plant Manager and be an integral part of the California production team.
