Kariera w Pekao - Bank Polska S.A. is looking for a GCP Platform Engineer to design, develop, and maintain a modern data platform on Google Cloud Platform, with a strong focus on BigQuery-based solutions. In this role, you will concentrate on creating scalable, secure, and cost-effective data architectures and platform service layers to support analytics and application teams in achieving business goals.
What You'll Do
- Design and develop the data platform architecture in Google Cloud Platform, with a strong focus on BigQuery.
- Create and develop standards and best practices in the area of data and cloud services.
- Design data models and optimize the performance and cost of BigQuery-based solutions.
- Integrate BigQuery with other GCP services such as Cloud Storage, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Cloud Functions, and Cloud Run.
- Collaborate with data engineering, analytics, and application teams.
- Design and oversee the platform service layer (APIs, event-driven architecture, batch and streaming processing).
- Ensure data security in the cloud (IAM, access policies, RLS/CLS).
- Participate in architecture reviews and provide technical support to project teams.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in cloud solutions or data architecture.
- Very good knowledge of Google Cloud Platform, especially BigQuery (data modeling, performance, cost optimization).
- Experience designing solutions based on GCP services in batch and streaming models.
- Knowledge of data lake, data warehouse, or lakehouse architectures.
- Working with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform).
- Knowledge of data security principles and compliance in cloud environments.
Nice to Have
- Higher education degree (preferred fields: IT, technical, or economics).
