Bloomreach is seeking a Senior DevOps / Infrastructure Engineer to join their Infrastructure team, responsible for operating and maintaining the core infrastructure of Bloomreach Engagement on Google Cloud. The ideal candidate will work closely with engineering teams to design scalable, secure, and efficient infrastructure solutions while supporting a DevOps culture with a focus on automation, monitoring, and reliability.
What You'll Do
- Work with other Engineering teams to design sustainable infrastructure and microservice solutions
- Design and maintain an efficient and robust production environment
- Automate tools and infrastructure to reduce manual work
- Monitor applications and participate in an on-call rotation as required
- Provide support for developers and review design proposals
- Validate performance and availability of applications
- Develop new core application components such as logging or authorization when needed
- Manage big infrastructure components including Kubernetes, databases, and cloud components on Google Cloud
What We're Looking For
- At least 3 years of production experience with Kubernetes, including deep understanding of cluster operations and 24x7 production support
- Production experience with GCP (preferred), AWS, or Azure, with comfort in public cloud operations, infrastructure as code, and design decisions between managed and self-hosted solutions
- Solid programming skills in Python or Go to develop custom tooling
- Hands-on experience configuring pod/container security context, network policies, roles and role bindings, pod affinity, host path, pod disruption budgets, priority classes, and node taints
- Experience analyzing resource usage and implementing changes to resource requests/limits, Horizontal Pod Autoscalers (HPAs), or Vertical Pod Autoscalers (VPAs)
- Deep understanding of cluster management including node pools, cluster features, cluster version, and node autoscaling setup
- Proven ability to upgrade Kubernetes cluster versions without interrupting live applications
- Experience writing Terraform modules with multiple interconnected resources
- Experience setting up monitoring systems and configuring alerts, preferably with Grafana and Prometheus
- Experience with DevOps, Orchestration/Configuration Management, and CI/CD technologies such as Terraform, GitLab, Ansible, Docker, etc.

- Participation in DevOps-related conferences
- On-duty or on-call experience in production environments
- Experience with onboarding and training new team members, demonstrating leadership and commitment to team growth

The Infrastructure team operates and maintains Bloomreach Engagement core infrastructure on Google Cloud. The team supports a DevOps culture where each engineering team is responsible for releasing, operating, and monitoring their own applications. The Infrastructure team provides foundational services including Kubernetes, databases, and cloud components, and also supports developers through design reviews and performance validation.
