M&T Bank is seeking a GCM Relationship Manager IV to manage client relationships and the daily administration of assigned Global Capital Markets (GCM) accounts of significant intricacy, complexity, and risk. You will serve as the main point of contact with clients and service partners, following strategies for sustainable earnings growth and compliance while participating in the development of innovative products and services.
What You'll Do
- Monitor administrative and operational systems, databases, and activity for assigned accounts to ensure compliance with policies and guidelines.
- Review, analyze, and provide comments on the negotiation and drafting of operative documents and agreements.
- Coordinate with Legal, Risk, Compliance, and/or Audit to monitor risks and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Research and resolve issues related to control and client service aspects of assigned accounts in a timely manner.
- Work with external parties (attorneys, financial advisors, partners) to structure and close GCM transactions.
- Complete various account administration activities including cash flow execution, fee billing, internal and external reporting, and tickler processing.
- Participate in sales calls to current and prospective clients and prepare fee proposals to support new business opportunities.
- Evaluate fees for suitability and conformance with fee schedules.
- Partner with Fee Billing to monitor and timely collect aged receivables.
- Manage and cultivate relationships with current and prospective clients and referral sources to uncover new business.
- Provide coverage and support for other Relationship Managers within the assigned Section/Unit as required.
- Represent GCM at transaction closings, attend and chair client meetings and presentations, and prepare related documentation.
- Represent GCM and/or lead departmental projects and Corporate initiatives.
- Participate on Divisional and Departmental projects at a strategic and tactical level (product development, fee structures, service delivery, policy/procedures).
- Direct and/or monitor less experienced Relationship Managers and Client Administrators in cash flows, fee billing, reporting, and tickler processing.
- Work with management to identify opportunities to enhance GCM’s control environment, products, coordination, and client service model.
- Advise and work with management on product changes affecting GCM’s control environment, profitability, and growth.
- Supervise and monitor others in your managerial group.
- Exercise usual authority of a manager concerning staffing, performance appraisals, promotions, salary recommendations, performance management, and terminations.
- Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls.
- Design, implement, maintain, and enhance internal controls to mitigate risk.
- Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
- Promote an environment that supports belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
- Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of audit points and regulator issues.
- Complete other related duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years’ client service experience in Global Capital Markets products or markets.
- OR, in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 9 years’ higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 5 years’ client service experience in Global Capital Markets.
- High level of proficiency with personal computers as well as pertinent software.
- High proficiency and experience reading, analyzing, and interpreting legal documents.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, and percentages.
- Familiarity with corporate structures, relevant laws, and regulations.

- Minimum of 2 years’ work leadership, supervisory, and/or managerial experience.

Benefits & Compensation
- Salary Range: $110,635.01 - $184,391.68 Annual (USD)
