Draper is hiring a Full Stack Software Test Engineer

About the Role

Draper, an independent nonprofit R&D organization, is hiring a Full Stack Software Test Engineer. In this role, you’ll join multidisciplinary teams in a collaborative environment to ensure the delivery of high-quality software. You’ll design, develop, and execute automated tests using Cypress, manage test cases via Zephyr Scale, and participate in reviews to uphold rigorous product integrity.

What You'll Do

  • Create and execute manual software test cases via Zephyr Scale
  • Write and execute unit tests with the Cypress testing framework
  • Aid in other development tasks where needed
  • Ensure products meet the organizations’ and customers’ quality and product integrity requirements
  • Drive improvements to Draper’s software development process, including best practices
  • Analyze data to identify trends in product quality or defects with the goal of mitigating and preventing recurrence and future defects
  • Provide technical assistance and support to customers, suppliers, and employees in resolving issues
  • Assist in the improvement of manufacturing, process, and product efficiency to reduce nonconforming products
  • Support product development or operations teams by providing analysis and expertise throughout the inspection process
  • Participate in a cross-functional team in the determination of root cause of failures
  • Identify when failure analysis is necessary, along with providing recommendations of the corrective measures

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (science, technology, engineering, software or math)
  • Proficiency using SQL
  • Experience with testing frameworks (Cypress, Jest, Playwright)
  • Experience with programming languages and frameworks (JavaScript, React, NextJS, C#, Python)
  • 2+ years of work experience
  • Experience with Agile, SCRUM
  • Ability to work on cross-functional teams
  • Ability to obtain a US Security Clearance (US Citizenship required)

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with the Atlassian tool suite (e.g., JIRA, Confluence)
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and reasoning skills; ability to debug and resolve difficult technical problems
  • Experience in a wide breadth of software development activities
  • Good interpersonal skills to communicate clearly
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills with the proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Access
  • Familiarity with Zephyr Scale
  • Familiarity with Epicor
  • Working knowledge of Lean Six Sigma principles
  • Familiarity with Quality Standards ISO 9001:2015 and AS9100
  • Expert knowledge and skills in process integration
  • Ability to prioritize tasks
