Draper, an independent nonprofit R&D organization, is hiring a Full Stack Software Test Engineer. In this role, you’ll join multidisciplinary teams in a collaborative environment to ensure the delivery of high-quality software. You’ll design, develop, and execute automated tests using Cypress, manage test cases via Zephyr Scale, and participate in reviews to uphold rigorous product integrity.
What You'll Do
- Create and execute manual software test cases via Zephyr Scale
- Write and execute unit tests with the Cypress testing framework
- Aid in other development tasks where needed
- Ensure products meet the organizations’ and customers’ quality and product integrity requirements
- Drive improvements to Draper’s software development process, including best practices
- Analyze data to identify trends in product quality or defects with the goal of mitigating and preventing recurrence and future defects
- Provide technical assistance and support to customers, suppliers, and employees in resolving issues
- Assist in the improvement of manufacturing, process, and product efficiency to reduce nonconforming products
- Support product development or operations teams by providing analysis and expertise throughout the inspection process
- Participate in a cross-functional team in the determination of root cause of failures
- Identify when failure analysis is necessary, along with providing recommendations of the corrective measures
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (science, technology, engineering, software or math)
- Proficiency using SQL
- Experience with testing frameworks (Cypress, Jest, Playwright)
- Experience with programming languages and frameworks (JavaScript, React, NextJS, C#, Python)
- 2+ years of work experience
- Experience with Agile, SCRUM
- Ability to work on cross-functional teams
- Ability to obtain a US Security Clearance (US Citizenship required)
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with the Atlassian tool suite (e.g., JIRA, Confluence)
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and reasoning skills; ability to debug and resolve difficult technical problems
- Experience in a wide breadth of software development activities
- Good interpersonal skills to communicate clearly
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills with the proven ability to meet deadlines
- Familiarity with Microsoft Access
- Familiarity with Zephyr Scale

- Expert knowledge and skills in process integration
