Par Pacific is seeking a Fuel Truck Driver to join our growth-oriented energy company. Reporting to the General Manager, you will perform tank truck and trailer driver duties by delivering petroleum products to our retail sites and commercial customers while following all policies and procedures. You will work with a cohesive team to serve a small community.
What You'll Do
- Receive delivery orders from the dispatcher, organize your delivery route, and call in after each delivery.
- Perform pre-delivery trip checks on the tank truck and fuels following DOT safety specifications.
- Drive a tank truck & trailer to customer locations, connect hoses, open valves, read gauges, and record amounts delivered.
- Return to the terminal at the end of the workday and complete post-trip truck inspections and all required paperwork.
- Establish and maintain good customer service, handling questions and calling customers before loading.
- Maintain your assigned work areas, vehicle, and equipment in a clean and orderly manner.
- Follow all safety rules, environmental procedures, and DOT regulations, reporting incidents immediately.
- Perform minor vehicle maintenance as needed, such as changing light bulbs or replacing valves.
- Perform other duties as required.
What We're Looking For
- Legal authorization to work permanently in the United States without visa sponsorship.
- Eligibility to obtain a TWIC card (Transportation Worker Identification Credential).
- A high school diploma or GED.
- A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), Type A with Hazmat and TX endorsements.
- At least three years of experience as a professional truck driver in a Type A Vehicle.
- At least three years of experience driving a manual transmission.
- A clean driving abstract for the last five years.
- General mechanical knowledge and skills.
- A working knowledge of math and the ability to perform routine calculations.
- Availability to work overtime and commit to DOT 'Hours of Service'.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 60 pounds.
- Good communication skills, ability to work with deadlines, organizational ability, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in difficult conditions and handle customer, operational, and emergency situations.
Nice to Have
- Petroleum or transporting liquids experience.
