Mindrift is seeking a Freelance Software Developer (Ruby) - AI Trainer to help improve Generative AI models for coding. You will design prompts, collaborate with engineers, iterate on strategies, and document patterns to enhance AI reasoning and reduce hallucinations.
What You'll Do
- Design prompt variations and evaluation cases to surface edge behaviors, failure modes, and performance regressions.
- Collaborate with engineers to align prompts with project constraints, APIs, and CI/CD workflows.
- Iterate on prompt strategies using test results and human feedback to improve reliability and reduce hallucinations.
- Document prompt patterns, expected outputs, and known limitations to support reuse and handoffs.
What We're Looking For
- A Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Software Development, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 3+ years of professional software development experience.
- Excellent command of Ruby and key ecosystem tools like RSpec and Bundler.
- Confident use of Git and standard Linux CLI tools.
- Hands-on experience with containerization (Docker) and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins).
- Deep understanding of testing principles and test-driven development (TDD).
- Strong skills in debugging, profiling, and code optimization.
- An advanced (C1) or above level of English.
Nice to Have
- Contributions to open-source Ruby projects (pull requests, code reviews, issue tracking).
- Experience working with large monorepositories or major open-source projects.
- Experience with automated benchmarking, scripting, or infrastructure-as-code tools.
- Experience working with AI-generated code or on code evaluation projects.
