BJAK is looking for a Founding AI Engineer to design and build next-generation intelligent systems that serve millions of users across Southeast Asia. You'll join a growing AI team and work closely with the Head of AI and other skilled engineers to build and ship production-grade machine learning models.
What You'll Do
- Build and ship production-grade machine learning models for high-impact use cases like fraud detection and risk modeling.
- Contribute to model architecture, data pipeline design, and deployment strategies.
- Collaborate across engineering, data, and product teams to drive AI initiatives.
- Support the full ML lifecycle—from data preprocessing and model training to monitoring in production.
- Write clean, scalable, and well-documented code.
- Stay up to date with the latest developments in AI/ML and contribute ideas to improve our systems and workflows.
- Participate in code reviews and technical discussions with peers.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 3–6 years of experience in AI/ML engineering with real-world deployment experience.
- Strong proficiency in Python is a must.
- Familiar with ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-learn.
- Solid understanding of machine learning workflows, from data preprocessing to model evaluation.
- Experience working on applied AI use cases (e.g., recommendation systems, fraud detection, risk scoring, NLP).
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Comfortable working remotely and collaborating with regional teams.
- Based in Singapore (Singaporean citizen) with a remote working setup.
Nice to Have
- Experience with MLOps tools like MLflow, Airflow, Docker, or cloud platforms (e.g., GCP, AWS).
- Familiarity with responsible AI practices (fairness, interpretability, model governance).
- Experience working in a startup or scale-up environment.
- Interest in building reusable ML components or internal tools.
