About the Role

This role is responsible for launching and scaling the sales function, developing client relationships, and shaping go-to-market strategy in the early stages of the company.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of the company's initial sales strategy
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in target markets
  • Build relationships with key decision-makers at prospective clients
  • Negotiate and close complex sales deals
  • Collaborate with leadership to refine product-market fit based on customer feedback
  • Develop sales materials and pitch decks tailored to different buyer personas
  • Establish repeatable sales processes and workflows
  • Train and mentor future sales hires as the team grows
  • Track and report on sales KPIs and pipeline health
  • Work cross-functionally with marketing to align messaging and campaigns
  • Conduct market research to inform pricing and positioning
  • Represent the company at industry events and networking forums
  • Maintain accurate CRM records and sales forecasts
  • Drive customer onboarding in partnership with delivery teams
  • Advocate for customer needs internally to influence product roadmap
  • Manage contract negotiations and renewals
  • Ensure compliance with legal and contractual requirements
  • Provide input on hiring and training plans for future sales roles
  • Help define sales compensation structures
  • Act as a brand ambassador in the market
  • Gather competitive intelligence and share insights with leadership
  • Support fundraising efforts with revenue projections and market analysis
  • Scale outreach efforts using automation and data-driven tactics
  • Maintain a high sense of ownership over revenue outcomes
