About the Role

E Ink Corporation is looking for a Formulation Scientist to conduct materials and process research for novel electrophoretic display technology. You will work on formulation development, thin-film characterization, lamination, and electrooptical characterization to support new designs and materials for the next generation of ePaper devices.

What You'll Do

  • Enable the design and development of liquid formulations for thin film laminates.
  • Characterize formulations and thin films via physical and chemical analytical methods.
  • Provide and seek active feedback to enable data-driven iterative design.
  • Enable the development of bench-scale prototypes via thin-film lamination for rapid formulation screening.
  • Characterize prototypes via electrooptical characterization techniques.
  • Maintain a rigorous electronic database of formulation and analytical data.

What We're Looking For

  • B.S. in chemistry, chemical engineering, or related fields.
  • 5 years of experience in formulation design, thin-film coating, lamination, and characterization.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-directed, motivated, and hands-on personality.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, open-minded, highly interdisciplinary work environment.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with polymer characterization techniques like viscometry and mechanical testing.
  • Experience with photopolymerization and radiation cured resins.
  • Working knowledge of Design of Experiments and statistical analysis.
  • Familiarity with basic electrical and/or electronic measurements on thin-film devices.
