CPCD is hiring a Floater Lead Teacher to play a key role in advancing child development by creating and leading high-quality learning experiences. You will establish a safe, healthy environment while providing daily supervision for classroom staff and traveling among assigned sites.
What You'll Do
- Plan and implement learning experiences that advance the development of the whole child.
- Establish and maintain a safe, healthy learning environment using high quality learning experiences in partnership with families.
- Comply with all Head Start Performance Standards, Colorado Department of Human Services licensing requirements, and the Colorado Quality Standards for Early Childhood Care and Education Services.
- Implement a balance of group and individualized experiences to promote the development of school readiness skills as defined by CPCD’s School Readiness Action Plan.
- Provide daily supervision for assigned classroom staff.
- Travel among classrooms and sites as directed by the CD Supervisor.
What We're Looking For
- Must have access to reliable transportation to travel to other locations during the workday and maintain a minimum liability insurance as determined by the State of Colorado.
- Associate’s degree in ECE or a related field and Colorado Department of Human Services Director Qualified. If not currently Director Qualified, must agree to obtain this certificate immediately.
- Experience teaching in early childhood education, including planning and implementing curriculum, using assessments, and providing effective, nurturing teacher-child interactions.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
- First Aid and infant, child, and adult CPR certification within the first year of employment.
- Medication Administration certification within 90 days of employment.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment physical exam, TB test, drug test, and background check per Office of Head Start Performance Standards and Childcare Licensing.
Nice to Have
- Bachelor's degree in early childhood education or a closely related field with 30 credits of early childhood education courses.
- Bilingual proficiency in English/Spanish or another language relevant to the community served.
Team & Environment
You will report to the CD Supervisor and travel among classrooms and sites as directed.

- Step 1: $26.52/hour with an AA Degree in ECE or related field and Director Qualification.
- Step 2: $29.45/hour with a Bachelor's Degree in ECE or related field and Director Qualification.
