About the Role
The Flight Test Engineer will be responsible for planning and conducting flight tests, analyzing data, and ensuring the safety and performance of aerospace systems. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to validate system performance and identify areas for improvement.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement flight test plans and procedures.
- Conduct flight tests and collect data using various sensors and instruments.
- Analyze test data to evaluate system performance and identify issues.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards during testing.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
- Document test results and prepare detailed reports.
- Develop and maintain test equipment and instrumentation.
- Participate in pre- and post-flight briefings and debriefings.
- Provide technical support during flight test operations.
- Contribute to the development of test protocols and procedures.
- Support the integration of new technologies into flight test programs.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
- Ensure data integrity and accuracy throughout the testing process.
- Coordinate with external partners and suppliers as needed.
- Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in flight testing.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance testing processes.
- Assist in the development of training materials for flight test personnel.
- Support the calibration and maintenance of test equipment.
- Collaborate with regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with standards.
- Provide input on the design and development of new aerospace systems.
- Conduct post-flight analyses to validate system performance.
