Vodafone is hiring a Fixed Network Assurance Engineer

About the Role

At Vodafone, we’re shaping the future of connectivity. As a Fixed Network Assurance Engineer, you will be a key part of our Network Operations team, carrying out the operation and maintenance of the Fixed & IP core network across all company sites. This role is a preparation stage for gaining an expertise position, where you will perform remote monitoring, diagnosis, and rectification of network problems.

What You'll Do

  • Perform network supervision and monitoring.
  • Conduct first-level troubleshooting of network entities.
  • Control change and configuration management activities.
  • Manage network incidents and crises.
  • Monitor network performance.
  • Handle network expansions and enhancements.
  • Resolve customer trouble tickets.
  • Keep detailed records of incidents according to local and global governance.
  • Contribute to the development and operation of Network Management systems.

What We're Looking For

  • Self-motivation, with strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Innovative thinking.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet schedules under pressure.
  • A commitment to embracing and cultivating team culture.
  • Willingness to work on a 5-2 shift schedule and fulfill ad-hoc shift replacement needs.
  • A first degree or equivalent in Telecommunications, Electronic Engineering, Physics, or Computer Science.
  • Very good knowledge of English, both oral and written.

Nice to Have

  • One (1) year of experience in telecommunications or Computer Systems.
  • IP Networking knowledge, with certifications like CCNA being preferable.
  • A fundamental understanding of and hands-on experience with network technologies including routing/switching and VLANs.
  • Familiarity with other BSS systems, such as Siebel.
