Hato Hone St John is looking for a committed First Response Unit Ambulance Volunteer to join our team in Ōtaki. You will provide vital care and support to patients through their journey, from the initial 111 call to on-scene treatment or transport. This volunteer role is a cornerstone of our community-focused care.
What You'll Do
- Provide care and support to patients through their journey from 111 call to referral, on-scene treatment, or transport to a medical facility.
- Cover community events as an Events Volunteer, ranging from local and international sports events to school fairs or concerts.
What We're Looking For
- A full and clean NZ driver's licence for at least 12 months or have completed an approved NZTA advanced driving course (if full licence held for less than 12 months).
- Be 18 years of age or over.
- Have New Zealand citizenship or permanent residency status.
- Have a clean police record.
- Be able to pass Hato Hone St John assessments - physical assessment, health questionnaire, literacy and numeracy assessments and an interview.
- Meet Hato Hone St John Medical Standards.
- Be available for regular duty and training (approximately two 12 hour shifts and one training session per month).
- Live within a 15 minute drive from the Ōtaki Station.
