Dell Technologies seeks a Firmware Senior Principal Engineer to lead the design, development, and troubleshooting of software for firmware applications. In this role, you will be responsible for BIOS management throughout the product lifecycle, including ODM and vendor assessment, issue resolution, and cross-functional collaboration.
What You'll Do
- Provide ODM and vendor assessment for new product development.
- Manage ODMs and vendors for software development, including root cause analysis and issue resolution through the entire product cycle.
- Clearly communicate project issues and status.
- Manage tech providers and ODMs to conduct troubleshooting, root-causing, and bug fixes for software-related issues.
- Accurately log project schedule, defect, and other data into the appropriate databases.
- Collaborate with other functional teams such as EE, BIOS, Testing, and Dell's internal software team.
- Participate in the preparation, review, and analysis of software requirements and specifications.
- Participate in the creation of design, functional, technical, and user documentation as needed.
What We're Looking For
- Software project management experience, including planning, risk/change management, and supplier management.
- Familiarity with Windows OS/driver architecture.
- Device driver or software programming experience.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
- Basic understanding of hardware and BIOS interactions.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to operate as an individual contributor and within a team environment.
Nice to Have
- 12+ years of working experience on BIOS-related projects.
- 3+ years of leading experience in BIOS development.
