Stanford Medicine Children's Health is looking for a Financial Clearance Coordinator to manage patient registration and insurance processes. You'll ensure financial clearance by verifying benefits, providing cost estimates, and securing necessary documentation for billing and compliance, all within a family-centered care environment.
What You'll Do
- Act as a registration expert and liaison between practice operations and patient financial advocates.
- Serve as the point of contact for registration, insurance issues, and patient billing questions.
- Explain financial obligations, the billing process, and collect payments or establish payment arrangements.
- Ensure secure handling and accurate recording of payments collected prior to scheduled visits.
- Manage Cost Estimate protocols automated through the EPIC EMR system.
- Maintain professional communication with staff, physicians, and patients via telephone, email, and EMR.
- Determine primary, secondary, and tertiary liability by coordinating payer plan benefits.
- Communicate liabilities directly to patients and provide estimates and education on insurance terms.
- Document the financial clearance process and discussions in the EMR.
- Connect patients to Financial Counselors for financial assistance and program enrollment.
- Cross train and be responsible for financial clearance workflows, including potential service line rescheduling.
- Maintain assigned daily volumes while meeting productivity requirements.
- Manage communication via In-basket messages, emails, and other methods.
- Review and update member registration, including processing real-time payor eligibility.
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Two (2) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience.

Benefits & Compensation
- Hourly compensation range: $32.43 to $40.54 per hour.
