Open Energy Transition is hiring a Finance Manager (Controller/Admin Experience)

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee all accounting operations and financial systems.
  • Ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and review financial statements, reports, and forecasts.
  • Coordinate and lead the annual audit process and tax filings.
  • Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Manage and mentor accounting staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Collaborate with department heads to prepare and manage budgets, and monitor variances.
  • Support strategic decision-making by providing financial insights and analysis.
  • Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processes.
  • Manage relationships with external auditors, banks, and other financial institutions.
  • Implement and maintain financial policies and procedures.
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting to stakeholders.
  • Monitor and analyze financial performance metrics.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings.
  • Prepare and review financial projections and cash flow statements.
  • Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Coordinate with external consultants and service providers as needed.
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data and records.
  • Support the development and implementation of financial strategies.
  • Manage the financial aspects of projects and initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with internal and external financial reporting standards.

Nice to Have

  • Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience in the energy or renewable energy sector.
  • Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
  • Knowledge of international financial reporting standards (IFRS).
  • Experience with financial risk management.
  • Experience with financial due diligence processes.
  • Knowledge of financial modeling and valuation techniques.
