Field Service Representative – Northeast Germany

Role Overview

This position is responsible for maintaining the integrity of certified products by conducting remote and on-site factory inspections across Europe, with a primary focus on Northeast Germany. You will verify ongoing compliance with applicable safety, performance, and environmental standards, ensuring that only authorized products carry the registered certification mark.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled and unannounced inspections at authorized manufacturing facilities, both remotely and in person
  • Select and evaluate representative product samples to confirm alignment with certification requirements and technical specifications
  • Assess compliance with established standards and determine necessary actions for deviations
  • Prepare detailed inspection reports, including Factory Inspection Reports (FIR) and Initial Factory Evaluations (IFE), in accordance with internal procedures
  • Review historical documentation to verify resolution of prior non-conformances
  • Recommend corrective actions and monitor implementation timelines under supervision
  • Make judgment calls on whether non-compliance requires shipment holds, re-evaluation, or mark removal
  • Maintain regular contact with clients to provide updates, respond to inquiries, and share information on new services
  • Support clients with administrative updates to their certification records
  • Stay current with evolving technical standards, testing methods, and certification processes

Qualifications

  • Degree or equivalent in Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering, or completion of a licensed electrician program with relevant experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering plus two years of industry experience preferred
  • Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, test results, and technical documentation
  • Experience using calibrated measuring devices, high-voltage test equipment, and hand tools
  • Familiarity with laboratory instrumentation and standard operating procedures in a testing environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in both German and English
  • Ability to work independently from a home office with strong organizational and time management abilities
  • Willingness and ability to travel across Europe on short notice, including cross-border assignments
  • Competence in standard computer applications, including word processing and email

Preferred Skills

  • Working knowledge of an additional European language such as French or Italian is an asset
