About the Role
The engineer will be responsible for installing, calibrating, and maintaining scientific equipment across customer sites in the Midwest, with a mix of remote diagnostics and field visits to ensure optimal performance and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Install and commission instrumentation at customer locations
- Perform scheduled and emergency maintenance on equipment
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues remotely when possible
- Conduct calibration and qualification of systems
- Maintain accurate service records and documentation
- Respond to customer support requests in a timely manner
- Troubleshoot hardware and software malfunctions
- Ensure compliance with safety and quality regulations
- Provide on-site technical training to users
- Coordinate with internal teams for parts and support
- Follow standard operating procedures for service tasks
- Report equipment performance trends and recurring issues
- Support validation documentation for regulated environments
- Work independently with minimal on-site supervision

- Manage time efficiently across multiple customer locations

- Maintain company-provided tools and test equipment
- Participate in on-call rotation for urgent service needs
- Track service hours and submit reports promptly
- Ensure customer satisfaction during each service interaction
- Follow up after service to confirm resolution
- Recommend upgrades or replacements when appropriate

- Support remote diagnostics using secure digital tools
