Role Overview
This position is for a Field Service Engineer responsible for managing the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of centrifugal compressors, steam turbines, and related rotating equipment. The engineer will operate primarily from Saudi Arabia but will travel extensively—over 200 days per year—across Europe, the Middle East, Russia, and Africa to support customer operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate field teams, including customer staff, contractors, and service representatives, during equipment installation, maintenance, and repair activities.
- Diagnose performance issues, direct corrective actions, and ensure reliable operation of turbomachinery in the field.
- Maintain clear, ongoing communication with clients, providing updates on project status, equipment performance, and any emerging concerns.
- Produce detailed service reports and present findings to both management and customer stakeholders.
- Collaborate with sales teams to support customer needs for spare parts, retrofits, service agreements, and new equipment solutions.
- Support continuous improvement by contributing ideas to enhance service delivery and customer experience.
- Champion health, safety, and environmental standards at all job sites.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Hold a degree in Mechanical Engineering or have completed a recognized mechanical apprenticeship with substantial field experience in turbomachinery.
- Demonstrate hands-on experience in the commissioning, overhaul, repair, and maintenance of centrifugal compressors and steam turbines.
- Have a history of leading technical teams and managing customer personnel during field operations.
- Be proficient in writing detailed technical service reports.
- Be fluent in English, both written and spoken.
- Be skilled in MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, and MS Project.
- Be committed to workplace safety and compliant with HSE standards.
Preferred Background
- Experience with steam turbines from manufacturers such as Dresser Rand, MAN, GE, or Siemens is advantageous.
Work Environment
This role operates on a remote basis from Saudi Arabia with frequent international travel to customer locations. The position supports a safety-focused culture and emphasizes service excellence, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement through employee input.
