ProSidian is seeking a Civil Engineer - Project Manager to serve as a FERMILAB Resident Engineer for the Proton Improvement Plan II (PIP-II) Construction Administration (CA) Support Services. This role involves providing engineering and project management expertise to support the Fermi Research Alliance, LLC (FRA) in Batavia, IL, with remote work options available.
What You'll Do
- Designing structures that are safe, functional, and aesthetically pleasing.
- Developing specifications, selecting materials, and creating detailed drawings and plans.
- Analyzing the behavior of structures under different loads, such as wind, earthquakes, and traffic using computer simulations and other techniques to ensure that the structures they design are safe and can withstand expected loads.
- Conducting site surveys and inspecting construction sites to assess the landscape, soil conditions, and other environmental factors that could affect the structural integrity of a project.
- Supervising the construction of structures to ensure the work is done according to plans, specifications, and safety standards.
- Ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal building codes and regulations.
- Collaborating with other professionals, such as architects, builders, and project managers, to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the desired standard.
- Conducting research and development to discover new materials, techniques, and technologies that can be used in structural design and analysis.
