Penn State is seeking an Events Assistant to support the Earth and Environmental Systems Institute (EESI) within the College of Earth and Mineral Sciences. In this role, you will assist in planning and coordinating events while contributing to digital communications.
What You'll Do
- Assist with planning meetings to determine event objectives and requirements for on-site and virtual gatherings.
- Research venues and services, making reservations as directed.
- Coordinate attendee logistics, including invitations, accommodations, transportation, catering, and security.
- Arrange signage, displays, printing, audio-visual equipment, and technology needs.
- Execute pre-event checklists and address or elevate issues as they arise.
- Process post-event surveys and evaluations, providing recommendations for improvement.
- Maintain EESI's commitment to environmental sustainability through event recycling, conservation, and waste management.
- Maintain contracts, agreements, and records, creating summaries and status reports.
- Provide general administrative support to the team.
- Assist with content for the institute's public-facing website, ensuring brand consistency and coordinating updates.
- Assist with social media platforms, creating and moderating content, engaging audiences, and maintaining a content calendar.
What We're Looking For
- A General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or High School diploma.
- 2+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Compensation range: $38,300.00 - $55,500.00.
