Kiewit Corporation is hiring an Entry Level Equipment Engineer to support our Regional Construction & Marine operations within the Kiewit Equipment Services (KES) district. In this role, you will focus on improving equipment reliability and managing the lifecycle of our construction and marine fleet through planning, scheduling, and preventative maintenance programs.
What You'll Do
- Understand and comply with all federal, state, and company health, safety, and environmental requirements.
- Handle material handling and procurement.
- Create and maintain tool, filter lists, and documentation.
- Perform inspections of equipment and parts.
- Manage logistics and communication.
- Conduct long and short-range equipment planning, scheduling, and budgeting.
- Plan and process paperwork to prepare for critical lifts.
- Use reliability and failure analysis data to increase equipment availability.
- Establish and maintain communications between all levels of supervision and management.
- Support craft maintenance technicians by ordering parts, managing inventory, scheduling crews, and managing quality and safety.
- Handle specialty projects as needed.
What We're Looking For
- An undergraduate AS/BS degree in Diesel/Automotive Technology, Heavy Equipment Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or Construction Management.
- A strong work ethic and willingness to do what it takes to get the job done.
- Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to focus on multiple projects while prioritizing tasks.
- Willingness to travel and relocate as required.
- Willingness to work in both office and field environments.
- Ability to freely access all points of a construction site or equipment yard in wide-ranging climates.
- Ability to work days, nights, and weekends if required.
- A record of regular, reliable attendance.
- Ability to work productively and meet deadlines.
- Ability to communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment.
- Commitment to performing work safely and effectively, following oral and written instructions.
- Flexibility to work during normal operating hours to complete work within deadlines, with overtime and weekends as required.
- Ability to work at various different locations where conditions may vary.
Nice to Have
- 1+ year of experience with equipment.
- 1+ year of experience with equipment planning, scheduling, and budgeting.
- Knowledge of CAD modeling programs.
- Basic hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
