Role Overview
As a Natural Environment Team Lead, you will guide technical delivery and team development within a multidisciplinary environmental practice. Working across infrastructure, energy, transportation, and land development projects, you’ll ensure ecological assessments meet regulatory standards while advancing strategic business objectives in Ontario.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the review and development of environmental assessments, technical studies, and impact statements with scientific rigor and regulatory insight.
- Manage permitting processes under federal and provincial environmental legislation, ensuring compliance and timely approvals.
- Support proposal development and contribute to building a competitive project portfolio aligned with long-term sector goals.
- Oversee team logistics, including scheduling, remote work coordination, and resource planning.
- Design and lead professional growth initiatives such as coaching, training, and mentoring for ecologists and technical staff.
- Review and validate timesheets to ensure alignment with project budgets and resource allocations.
- Track team performance through utilization, profitability, backlog, and other operational metrics.
- Conduct field visits to support project execution and verify adherence to health, safety, and environmental protocols.
- Foster a proactive safety culture grounded in prevention, continuous improvement, and environmental stewardship.
Work Environment
This position follows a hybrid model with flexibility in scheduling and remote work. Team members can work from office locations in Ottawa, Gatineau, or various southern Ontario communities including Kitchener, Guelph, Burlington, Mississauga, Toronto, and Bowmanville.
