About the Role
The selected candidate will conduct research related to environmental justice, interpret data, and contribute to reports that inform policy and community engagement strategies.
Responsibilities
- Collect and analyze environmental and demographic data
- Evaluate community exposure to environmental hazards
- Support the development of equity-focused policy recommendations
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on project deliverables
- Prepare technical reports and summaries for stakeholders
- Identify data gaps in environmental justice assessments
- Utilize geographic information systems for spatial analysis
- Engage with community organizations to understand local concerns
- Assist in designing public outreach materials
- Review federal and state environmental regulations
- Contribute to grant proposals and funding applications
- Present findings to non-technical audiences
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of environmental justice frameworks
- Ensure data accuracy and integrity in all analyses
- Support the creation of equity indicators for impact assessment
- Work with public datasets from government and academic sources
- Assist in evaluating program effectiveness
- Participate in team meetings and strategy sessions
- Track project timelines and milestones
- Adhere to ethical research practices
- Manage multiple tasks under deadlines
- Translate scientific findings into accessible language
- Contribute to database development and maintenance
- Support peer review processes
- Follow project-specific protocols and guidelines
