AECOM is looking for an Environmental Data Scientist III to join our global team dedicated to delivering a better world. In this mid-level role, you will support our enterprise environmental data management system, primarily EarthSoft EQuIS, managing and analyzing data from air, soil, and water quality assessments to ensure compliance and inform project decisions.
What You'll Do
- Gather, organize, and validate field data from environmental monitoring activities.
- Manage field and analytical data in relational database systems like EarthSoft EQuIS, Locus EIM, or similar.
- Conduct QA/QC for electronic data deliverables and ensure data meets local, state, and federal reporting standards.
- Prepare environmental data summaries and compliance reports for submission to regulatory agencies.
- Utilize statistical tools and predictive modeling techniques to assess environmental impacts and forecast trends.
- Generate standardized report outputs and visualizations, including Borelogs using gINT or other platforms.
- Support legacy data migrations to modern systems like EQuIS/EIM.
- Maintain and update project dashboards using web-based systems and tools like Power BI.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, project managers, and team members to achieve project objectives efficiently.
- Support field event coordination using sample registry and planning modules.
What We're Looking For
- A Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in environmental data management or consulting.
- Hands-on expertise with environmental database systems like EQuIS, LOCUS EIM, or ESDAT.
- Proficiency with relational databases (MS SQL Server, MS Access) and the EQuIS Collect Module.
- Expert-level skills in Office 365, Excel, Power Query, and Power Automation.
- Strong documentation skills for creating SOPs, process maps, and work instructions.
- Experience applying Six-Sigma techniques to data management processes.
- Excellent organizational, prioritization, and time management skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and clients.
- Fluent in English (oral and written).
Nice to Have
- A Master's Degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
- 5-10 years of total relevant experience.
- Advanced analytical skills for data validation across field collection and analytical reporting stages.
- Knowledge of digital tools like Power BI, R Studio, KNIME Analytics, or Python.
