GE HealthCare is hiring an Engineering Technical Leader to spearhead the design and evaluation of pressure vessel internals for the existing BWR Nuclear Fleet. In this leadership role, you will guide a team of engineers, provide technical direction, manage project schedules and resources, and act as the key technical liaison between the engineering team, internal partners, and external customers.
What You'll Do
- Apply expertise in mechanical design based on product requirements, industry codes, and operating environments within defined schedule and cost limits.
- Create schedules and estimates to drive the Reactor Internals Hardware design and qualification process.
- Oversee 3D model development, access studies, analysis, drawings, design specifications, and evaluation reports for hardware and components.
- Manage collaboration with the Modification Tooling Design Team, Analysis Teams, Field Deployment Teams, and business leadership.
- Participate in emergent issue support during Outage Season to provide technical guidance and rapid response.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university or college.
- Minimum of 10 years of expertise in mechanical design and drafting practices (2D drawings, 3D modeling) in a commercial setting.
Nice to Have
- Finite Element Analysis experience.
- Nuclear industry experience and understanding of nuclear reactor components.
- Experience designing with nuclear quality materials.
- Knowledge of ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel code and its application to design and repair.
- Knowledge of Geometric Design & Tolerancing.
- Knowledge of bolted joints and weld design.
- Strong project planning, scheduling, and execution experience as an engineer or team lead.
- Ability to lead multi-disciplined teams on first-of-a-kind projects.
