Datadog is hiring an Engineering Operations Director to build and lead a new function responsible for how our engineering organization operates. This senior leadership role, reporting to the Chief of Staff to the CTO, will define the vision for Engineering Operations at scale, driving higher productivity, reducing friction, and enabling better decision-making.
What You'll Do
- Set the vision for Engineering Operations at scale, defining the approach, scope, and operating model.
- Establish a cohesive operating rhythm connecting budgeting, headcount planning, and productivity insights.
- Design scalable operating mechanisms and systems, improving processes through tooling, automation, data, and AI.
- Drive data-informed operational decisions by improving the quality and usability of engineering operational data.
- Oversee the Engineering Enablement team responsible for onboarding, learning infrastructure, internal events, and community-building.
- Build and lead a small, high-impact Engineering Operations team, defining capabilities, roles, and growth plans.

Team & Environment
You will join an engineering organization of nearly 4,000 engineers, designers, and product partners. Reporting to the Chief of Staff to the CTO, you will partner with senior leaders across Product, Finance, People, Legal, and Business Operations.
