The Boeing Company is hiring an Engineering Mechanical Products Manager - Inserts for a techno-managerial role within our Mechanical Systems & Structures Engineering capability. You will provide the technical leadership and people management necessary to build and motivate a team focused on end-to-end product design.
What You'll Do
- Manage employees performing end-to-end product design engineering and technical activities in Mechanical & Structures Design.
- Develop and implement operational plans aligned with department objectives, assign authority and responsibilities, and monitor performance metrics.
- Forecast resource needs, make hiring decisions, and coach, counsel, mentor, and develop employees.
- Partner with internal and external stakeholders, including supplier management and global teams, to develop strategies and maintain relationships.
- Provide periodic updates to senior management via progress reports and project summaries.
- Foster an innovative work environment to identify improvements in product, process, quality, and productivity.
- Support Systems Requirements Review (SRR), Preliminary Design Reviews (PDR), and Critical Design Reviews (CDR).
What We're Looking For
- A Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 13+ years of related work experience OR a Master's with 12+ years of related experience.
- Excellent understanding of Aerospace systems: Fuselage, Wing, Empennage Structures or Mechanical Systems such as Hydraulics, Propulsion and Electro-Mechanical systems.
- Familiarity with Safety and Airworthiness Standards per Regulatory requirements such as FAA.
- Exhibited engineering expertise across product development phases: Design, Build & Fleet Support.
- Strong leadership and project management skills.
- Oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.
- Strong aptitude for team building and people development to manage, develop and motivate employees.
- Past hands-on experience with industry leading CAD, PLM, Stress Analysis & Thermal Analysis tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to prepare comprehensive reports, proposals, Statements of Work.
- Fluent in English and expertise in using MS Office tools.
- Flexible, with a high tolerance for organizational complexity and ability to work with partners from within Boeing and outside.
- Self-starter with a positive attitude, high ethics, and a track record of working successfully under pressure in a time-constrained environment.

- Experience leading teams and ability to mentor and guide juniors and partners to accomplish project and departmental goals and objectives.
